Terms of Service

1. The Service

Friendship Circle is a peer support platform that connects users anonymously based on shared personal struggles. We provide encrypted messaging tools, a matching algorithm, and community moderation.

We are not a medical provider, therapist, or crisis service. Nothing on this platform constitutes professional mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or a crisis hotline immediately.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Friendship Circle.
• You must be a human — automated accounts, bots, and scrapers are not permitted.
• If you have been banned from Friendship Circle, you may not create a new account.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access at security@friendshipcircle.app.

You may not impersonate any person or use a username that is offensive, misleading, or infringes on another person's rights.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use Friendship Circle to:

• Harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate any user
• Share, solicit, or attempt to extract personal identifying information from other users
• Post or share sexually explicit content
• Promote, glorify, or facilitate self-harm or suicide
• Promote or recruit for cults, hate groups, or extremist organisations
• Engage in commercial solicitation, spam, or advertising
• Attempt to circumvent security, moderation, or abuse-detection systems
• Violate any applicable law or regulation

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban, at our sole discretion.

5. Content

You retain ownership of the content you create. By using the platform, you grant Friendship Circle a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store your content for the purpose of providing the service.

We do not access the contents of encrypted messages. However, you agree that you will not use our platform to transmit content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

6. Moderation & Enforcement

We reserve the right to review reports, suspend accounts, and remove content that violates these Terms. Our Community Guidelines detail specific prohibited behaviours. We aim to enforce consistently, but moderation decisions are final.

If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, contact support@friendshipcircle.app. We will review appeals within 7 business days.

7. Premium Services

Friendship Circle offers optional paid features ("Premium"). All purchases are subject to our refund policy. Subscription fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law.

We may change pricing or features with 30 days notice to active subscribers.

8. Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that matches will be suitable or safe. Peer support is not professional help.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Friendship Circle shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including damages from interactions with other users.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms.

Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you by email and in-app notice at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
