Friendship Circle exists because vulnerability deserves a safe container. These guidelines define the shared agreement that makes that possible. Everyone here is going through something. Please treat each other accordingly.
Our Founding Principles
Behind every username is a real person carrying something real. Approach every conversation with the humanity you'd want shown to you.
Never ask for, share, or attempt to discover anyone's real identity. This includes names, locations, social media profiles, and contact details. Anonymity is the trust system here.
This is peer support, not an advice column. Listening, validating, and being present are as valuable as anything you say. Resist the urge to immediately fix or advise.
If someone says they don't want to discuss a topic, drops a conversation, or sets a boundary — honour it, immediately and without pushback.
What's Welcome Here
- Sharing your own experiences, feelings, and struggles honestly
- Listening without judgment and validating emotions
- Asking thoughtful questions to understand, not to probe
- Checking in on matches you've connected with before
- Reporting behaviour that makes you or others feel unsafe
What Is Not Allowed
- Harassment or intimidation — including repeated unwanted contact after someone has disengaged
- Sharing personal identifying information — yours or anyone else's
- Sexual content or advances — of any kind, unsolicited or otherwise
- Glorifying or encouraging self-harm or suicide — this is a zero-tolerance violation
- Hate speech — targeting any group based on identity
- Recruitment — for groups, causes, platforms, or relationships outside the app
- Commercial solicitation — selling, promoting, or advertising anything
- Impersonation — pretending to be someone else, including platform staff
Crisis Situations
If a match shares that they are in immediate danger of harming themselves or others, please:
- Encourage them to contact emergency services (911, 999, 112)
- Share a crisis resource: Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741)
- Report the conversation to our moderation team using the in-chat report button
You are not responsible for another person's safety. But you can point them toward people who are equipped to help.
Enforcement
Violations are reviewed by our moderation team. Consequences range from a warning to permanent account removal depending on severity. We do not warn before removing accounts for severe violations (self-harm glorification, sexual content, hate speech).
You can report any message or user using the report button in the app. All reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
